Job Summary: Ensures H-E-B compliance with federal, state, and local environmental regulations
Essential Functions / Process Responsibilities include the following; other duties may be assigned as necessary
- Conducts environmental audits of H-E-B facilities and stores
- Develops and revises audit checklists
- Develops training materials for one-on-one and/or group training
- Conducts training classes and one-on-one training
- Collects data and prepares regulatory reports as directed by the Environmental Compliance Manager, HazMat Program Manager and Director of Environmental Affairs
- Assists in responses to environmental emergencies
- Develops and manages programs/projects to meet environmental compliance needs, improve environmental performance, or resolve non-compliance issues
- Develops and updates SOPs and BMPs
- Accompanies regulators on audit
- Represents H-E-B at meetings of various environmental stakeholder groups and Environmental Affairs at various internal meetings
Education and Experience preferred
- A related degree or comparable formal training, certification, or work experience
- 4 yrs environmental experience, preferably in a manufacturing facility
- Experience in or working with governmental regulatory agencies

- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Works well in a team environment
Physical and Other Requirements
- Function in a fast-paced, retail, office environment
- Travel by car or airplane with overnight stays
- Lift 20 lbs or more on an occasional basis
- Work extended hours
