Our Commercialization Team is growing into H-E-B's intention to be The Greatest Omnichannel Retailing Company, and we're developing new and expanded lines of business, while implementing and supporting company-wide digital transformation to best meet the needs of our Stores and Customers.

As a Commercialization Project Manager, you'll play a key role, connecting operations to strategy, marketing, and product / program management. You'll collaborate across multiple manufacturing plants in an end-to-end capacity, with merchant teams, Own Brand, plant operations, engineering, R&D, Procurement, Digital, Supply Chain, and vendors, while leading projects that support bringing new products to market, developing packaging and ingredient transitions, transforming our digital capabilities, and implementing new technology and processes.

- 2+ years of related experience; experience in H-E-B Manufacturing operations a definite plus
- technical aptitude and strong analytical skills

What is the work?
Management / Project Management:
- Leads low- to medium-complexity / small- to medium-scope projects across multiple manufacturing plants with a wide variety of customers in an end-to-end capacity
- Partners closely with Engineering, Supply Chain, and Digital project managers to lead cross functional teams executing end-to-end work; tailors approach and strategy to a diverse range of end-users
- Defines / manages project scope, resource needs, project schedules; supports efforts to meet budgetary commitments
- Defines project's critical path and major milestones; develops effective work estimates and processes to ensure project team meets expectations
- Determines appropriate project deliverables (e.g., project charters, communication plans, risk mitigation plans, resource plans, implementation plans, quality plans, commissioning, training, and sustainment plans)
- Identifies / establishes performance criteria and qualification metrics for each project / implementation; creates plans to test, achieve, verify parameters were met
- Leads successful hand-off and sustainment of new processes, equipment, and new product manufacturing to the end customer--manufacturing facilities
- Identifies any troubled project / project aspect; executes plans to bring the project to a successful conclusion
- Determines when a project cannot meet its intended goals; recommends appropriate next steps
- Serves as an informal leader, with influence within Manufacturing, Warehousing, Transportation, and Digital organizations
- Provides work direction; coaches / mentors / motivates project team members and others
- Identifies opportunities for organizational improvement; uses influence to deliver positive change
- Learns / applies business and functional subject matter knowledge to drive successful project outcomes and established business objectives

What is your background?
- A bachelor's degree in engineering, food science, or a related field
- 2+ years of related experience; experience in H-E-B Manufacturing operations a definite plus
- Experience in project or technology management, or managing bringing new products / processes to market
- Experience in a technical internship role (preferred)
- Experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment a plus

Do you have what it takes to be a fit as a Commercialization Project Manager for H-E-B?
- Knowledge of project management practices a plus
- Knowledge of accounting and finance principles
- Familiarity with Safe Quality Foods (SQF), Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA), and Quality Manufacturing Systems (QMS) standards a plus
- Advanced PC usage skills, including MS Office, MS Project, and H-E-B systems (Own Brand's OBPS, CPS a plus)
- Advanced facilitation and conflict-management skills
- Strong verbal / written communication, presentation skills
- Strong analytical skills; technical aptitude
- Strong collaborating and influencing skills
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
- Strong change management skills
- Ability to manage low- to medium-complexity projects from conception to implementation
- Ability to collaboratively lead / influence cross-functional stakeholders
- Ability to work with little supervision; ability to remain highly independent / flexible when setting priorities
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and shift focus between projects / tasks
