Responsibilities

Every week, customers across Texas drop off and pick up more than half a million prescriptions while shopping at H-E-B. We operate Pharmacies throughout Texas at our Store locations and employ hundreds of Pharmacists and Technicians to fill scripts; administer flu shots, immunizations, and health screenings; and answer patient questions. H-E-B's Central Fill (CF) facility is a high-volume automated pharmacy facility designed to help support the stores in meeting present and future dispensing needs. Our goal is to deliver outstanding service to each and every store, which is accomplished by high efficiency prescription filling that is sharply focused on quality and accuracy.

As a Central Fill Maintenance Technician, you will install, repair, and maintain buildings, equipment, and grounds used by Central Fill. You will perform predictive / preventive maintenance (PM) and repairs on a wide variety of equipment and provide accurate data that's used in asset management and to ensure regulatory compliance.

What is the work?
Maintenance / Repair & Replacement:
- Maintains Central Fill facilities and systems in a professional manner that assures safety, efficiency, and reliability
- Performs preventive, predictive, and repair maintenance daily tasks
- Utilizes computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) to process purchase orders, work orders, parts, and PM tasks
- Orders materials, parts, supplies, equipment, and tools required to complete tasks
- Assists in rebuilding or replacing equipment and components
- Assist in repairing and maintaining facilities, air compressors, automatic doors, battery chargers, air conditioning, sprinkler systems, lighting, plumbing, etc.
- Maintains / troubleshoots programmable logic controllers (PLCs) that operate the production line and individual equipment; writes, downloads, and installs PLC programs for failed PLCs and for various improvements / upgrades; installs / rewires replacement PLCs
- Maintains / troubleshoots photo eye technology on production line, pneumatic cylinders used for diverters / holdbacks, pharmacy vial labelers, cappers, strappers, hopper offline replenishment stations, and AC / DC motors and drives, etc.
- Maintains high efficiency particulate arrestance (HEPA) units to ensure a safe work environment
- Designs and fabricates components to fix / improve existing machinery
- Designs and installs Central Fill enhancements, including conveyors / electrical components to improve process work flow
- Designs and builds electrical boxes used for enhancements to production line; designs / performs carpentry work as needed
- Provides feedback to the Leadership Team on design and equipment to improve reliability, productivity, and accuracy
- Performs other duties as assigned

Troubleshooting:
- Troubleshoots to determine root cause of equipment failures; determine best corrective and preventive measures to implement
- Troubleshoots / provides PM on various types of conveyors, including FlexLink, Ambiveyor, and Roach
- Troubleshoots / installs / repairs Lexmark, Zebra, and Xerox printers
- Assists in troubleshooting / repairing Pharmacy automation systems, including electrical scales, 3-axis / 6-axis robots, and RXAS pill counting technology

What is your background?
- High school diploma or equivalent, or technical training (preferred)
- 3+ years of experience in mechanical / electrical, AC and commercial refrigeration, welding, hydraulics / pneumatics, construction trades (e.g., painting, carpentry, plumbing, masonry)
- Experience reading and drawing schematics and wiring diagrams

- Basic computer knowledge, including MS Office applications
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and shift focus between tasks
