Responsibilities

As a Principal Product Manager, Merchandising Technology (Cost & Price) you'll deliver products that ensure a compelling digital experience for our retail Customers or help arm H-E-B Partners company-wide with world-class business applications to thrive in their jobs. You'll serve as the dedicated owner of a broad set of related products, features, or initiatives, typically strategically related.

You will play an integral part in helping to shape the vision and strategy of our Cost and Price digital products. Working closely with a small team of Product Managers, you will help to craft an integrated strategy that simplifies the user experience for our H-E-B Partners and arms them with the data they need to effectively and efficiently do their jobs.

We are looking for:

  • 12+ years of experience in / related to product management or product development
  • Strong business and digital acumen related to enterprise organizations
  • Experience supporting retail in one or more of the following areas: Merchandise Planning, Cost Optimization, Price Optimization.

 

What is the work?
Digital Product Management:

  • Defines / drives large-scale product strategy transformation and innovation at the company level; serves as dedicated owner of a broad set of related products, features, or initiatives, typically strategically related while working independently
  • Works with executive leadership teams to drive strategy and influence direction and business decisions related to product management
  • Works on complex multi-dimensional product areas
  • Provides direction and leadership to product managers on product strategy and roadmaps to roll out and commercialize new product features and offerings
  • Serves as trusted subject matter expert on owned product area(s), related product area(s), and department
  • Defines and influences multi-year product strategy initiatives; coordinates cross-functional teams of Partners / suppliers
  • Explores / validates / executes with no pre-defined solutions; makes independent decisions in ambiguous and complex areas, based on analysis, experience, and judgment
  • Influences and collaborates with executive stakeholders company-wide to understand / document business needs in an end-to-end manner
  • Accesses / organizes data; builds complex analyses to understand financial impact of business opportunity and proposed solutions
  • Works closely day to day both influencing and leading business customers, Product Managers, Design, and Engineering Partners to drive entire technology project lifecycle (conception, user research, design and prototyping, development, pilot, launch, measurement, iteration)
  • Influences and guides company leadership and product leadership to demonstrate high velocity, efficiency, and morale; ensures product deliverables consistently meets committed deadlines
  • Flexes, re-defines, improves existing processes to maximize outcomes; identifies critical risks and dependencies; anticipates / resolves critical team issues with no escalation
  • Creates complex and multi-layered quantitative data analysis and modeling to inform outcomes; constructs methods / metrics to identify product team successes and failures

What is your background?

  • A related degree or comparable formal training, certification, or work experience
  • 12+ years of experience in / related to product management or product development
  • Experience supporting retail in one or more of the following areas: Merchandise Planning, Cost Optimization, Price Optimization.
